FAITH Homeschool is a Christian group located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. We are open to membership from all denominations as long as potential members agree and sign our Statement of Faith. We currently have 82 families with children of all ages.
FAITH offers support for members with homeschooling questions & concerns. Members help each other using their own experiences and expertise. Members often discuss curriculum they have used and what has or hasn't worked for them. (Used curriculum is often available from individual members.)
FAITH does not have regular monthly meetings; rather we offer a wide range of activities, some geared toward entire families, some toward children, and some toward moms. Membership not limited to Hardin Co, but to anyone in the area. If you’re a homeschooler and can make it to the events, you’re welcome to be a member.
Members also enjoy the opportunity to participate in group activities such as: monthly field trips, Mom's Night Out, recreational basketball & archery, JOOI club for teens, Traditional Enrichment classes for grades K-8 and Academics classes for grades 6-12.
A few enrichment classes offered this year for Kindergarten thru 8th grade will be: Geography (1 & 3), Character First (1 & 2), Gym (3-4 & 6-8), KY History (4 & 5), Current Events (6 & 8), & Chess (5-6). Enrichment classes are meant only to enhance a child's education and experiences. They are not core academic classes.
Core Academics classes offered for 6th thru 12th graders. Academic classes offered this year will be: Middle School courses: 6th grade Apologia Astronomy/Zoology; 7-8 grade Apologia Genreal Science, US History, Geography/Art Appreciation, Langauage Arts. High School courses: Apologia Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Physical Science, Human Physiology and Anatomy; U.S. History; Spanish 1 & 3 (Bob Jones); Language Arts.
Many members are involved in other activities such a Tae Kwon Do, 4-H clubs, Teen Pact, and Drama Camp, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts.
